The modular design of the SBT series spring return hydraulic bolt tensioners provides users with the flexibility to easily adapt their existing tensioner to accommodate different thread sizes within the same tensioner range. By simply purchasing individual components or a conversion kit, users can achieve greater versatility at a cost-effective price.

Models SBT3, SBT4, and SBT6 are available with two different bridge sizes. It is crucial to verify whether the required thread change is compatible with the selected bridge size. Mixing components is not recommended, as it may cause operational issues. For example, a larger bridge requires a long threaded puller to ensure proper thread engagement, as well as a larger-sized nut rotating socket.

The following table details the components needed to modify your tensioner for a different bolt size, including short threaded adapters, load cells, small bridges, small nut rotating sockets, and tommy bars. Remember, changes can only be made within the same tensioner size, and all components or conversion kits must have the same suffix as the target tensioner size (e.g., B1, B2, or B3).

Conversion Kit Examples:

• To change from SBT3-162B1 to SBT3-187B1, only conversion kit CKS3-187B1 is needed.

• To change from SBT3-187B1 to SBT3-200B2, conversion kits CKS3-200B2 and bridge STS3-B2 are required.
