Modular Design for Topside Hydraulic Bolt Tensioners

The modular design of the STS series topside hydraulic bolt tensioners offers users the ability to easily adapt an existing tensioner assembly to accommodate different thread sizes within the tensioner range. This can be achieved by purchasing individual components or a simple conversion kit. This flexibility provides increased versatility at a more economical cost.

Models STS1, STS3, STS4, and STS6 are available with two different bridge sizes. It is important to confirm whether the required thread change is possible within the selected bridge size. Do not mix components, and ensure that all components are compatible. A large bridge will require a long threaded puller for proper thread engagement, as well as a larger nut rotating socket.

Conversion Kit Details:

• Short threaded adapter, load cell, small bridge, small nut rotating socket, and tommy bar components are available to modify your existing tensioner to suit another bolt size.

• Changes are only possible within the same tensioner size. All components or conversion kits must match the suffix of the target tensioner size (e.g., B1, B2, or B3).

Example Conversions:

• To change from STS3-162B1 to STS3-187B1, you would need conversion kit CK3-187B1.

• To change from STS3-187B1 to STS3-200B2, conversion kit CK3-200B2 and bridge STS3-B2 are required.
